Your Authentic Self, Your True Self

Managing our financial, work, family, personal, and spiritual realms can make modern life feel fragmented and unfulfilling, and when financial problems rear their ugly heads, it can feel positively overwhelming. Are you strapped for cash at the end of the month or up to your neck in debt? Do you long to be financially independent? It’s easy to blame our financial problems on a poor economy or a culture that exalts money. But money problems are actually about much more than money; they’re about our connection with our authentic self.
Your authentic self encompasses your core values, beliefs, unique abilities, and sense of purpose.  Having trouble identifying your authentic self?  Try this exercise:
First, think back to when you were a child:

1. Can you recall doing anything that was instinctive to you?

2.  What type of activities came naturally to you?

Now bring yourself to the present moment:

1. Make a list of the things you are great at and the things or moments that give you peace.  Are you doing these things every day?

2. What do you truly enjoy doing with your time?

3. If money were no object, what would you do with your daily life?

Once you start living your life in alignment with your authentic self, the money starts to follow. I encourage you to take a look at your authentic self.  Is it in alignment with your financial reality today?  If not, choose to really examine what that reality is and choose to change the negative thoughts that might be holding you back

I’ve noticed something over the years: most people don’t struggle with money because they don’t know what to do. They struggle because they’re carrying old emotional patterns into a new season.
